Description of the Hero

The hero is born under obscure birth. Usually has unnatural talent and is often times virtuous. The Hero, however, is often outmatched and must rely on his wit or ingenuity to overcome obstacles. He then is called to adventure, but is reluctant to go. He goes through a period of training, and faces various forms of temptation before finally facing his ultimate evil.

The Hero is genuinely good and must undergo enormous self-sacrifice to overcome the evil. He or she generally has some sort of defect, usually it is with their personality(ex. oddysseus's ego, Superman Kryptonite, and spiderman's self-doubt). They usually have great cunning and eventually overcome evil, not by their great strength or skill, but by cunning or self-sacrifice. The hero is the epitomy of goodness and virtue; the hero is self-sacrificing and stands for all that is good.
